There is no “best” food for all dogs, as each dog is an individual, and what works well for one dog may not work for another. The best thing really is to have a select variety for your dog. 1. Innova – Premium Canned – Innova is on the pricey side butits a higher quality food. A very good, high meat content. Supposedly no by-products or fillers.
2. Orijen – Premium Dry – It is really a toss up here but do to the fact that not all dogs can handle high protein dog foods. we have placed it second. These two could be 1 and 1a. The mixture here is excellent. 70% meat, 30% fruit, vegetables. It has NO GRAINE, instead relying instead on potatoes for carbohydrates.
3. Go Natural from Petcurean – All meat sources are of human grade, anti-biotic free, hormone free. This dog food does not contain any grains at all. Grains are not a natural part of a dogs diet, therefore they should not eat dog food that contains grains. This formulation is 80% meat, 0% grains
4. Canidae – Canned – This dog food actually has grains but the trade off here is that is supposedly has more human-quality meat to it.
5. Naturapet Innova EVO- Dry – A natural dog food. High meat content. No poor quality or harmful ingredients.
6. Nutro Natural Choice Puppy Dry Dog Food – The particular dog food is 100% complete nutrition,they use Natural Vitamin E and dont use any synthetic preservatives.The claim here is that there no fillers or byproducts. None.
7. Eukanuba Sensitive Skin Adult Dog Food – I am putting this one on the list because of a problem I had with my dog and his hair probem. I have a friend who had problems with his labs hair. It was falling out and there was irritation on the skin where the hair was. Upon their recommendation, my dogs hair has grown back and there is no longer irritation.
8. Eagle Pack Super Premium Dog Food Natural Formula - I am very pleased with Eagle Pack for active Adults. I have one husky and one shpepherd. Nutrition is very important to me for my babies.
9.Avoderm – A bit on the “mealy” side. We like the fact that it promotes a clean system. An antioxidant rich formula for a healthy immune system. I like the avocado addition’, many of the nutrients your dog needs for a healthy skin and coat can be found in the remarkable fruit known as the avocado.
10. Solid Gold – having a husky I had to add this one. Solid Gold never uses chemical preservatives such as BHA, BHT and Ethoxyquin, no by products or fillers. They never use ingredients that genetically modified. Their ingredients dont have chemicals in them that give my dog the uncomfortable skin disorder, so I found out later when using lesser brands. They never add animal fat. Thats a no no for me. I know some dont mind the fat.
