When it comes to feeding your dog or dogs the old adage, “you are what you eat” can be a measuring tool for your pet as well. That is why all natural dog food is the way to go. Providing that the ingredients are truly all natural. Healthy dog food is very important to maintaing your dogs’ health. Too many times big business uses poor substitutes as filler and the end result is you and/or your dog will pay.

How you ask?

It’s simple. If you feed your dog cheaper, less health food then chances are the dogs life expectancy will be shortened. But not before you pay for extra (what would have unecessary veterinarian visits if you feed the dog holistic dog food, healthy dog food) for more visits annually to the vet. Poor ingredients in dog foods lead to bad dog breath, leaving bacteria in the dogs system due to poor filler and harmful ingredients.

Life’s Abundance Pet Dog Food and Flint River Ranch Holistic Dog and Puppy Food are just a few of the better dog foods available to the pet lovers.

I cannot stress enough, know what you are putting into your dogs’ body. If it is cheaper and you think you are saving money. You are BUT the price is something your dog will pay.

The “Tip” was simple. Know the ingredients in the dog food.

In this poor economy it’s become difficult for families to provide for their pets.

The Peninsula Pet Pantry founders Geralyn Nelson and Randi Helpinstill started the company after realizing how many pets were being displaced due to the financial hardships of their owners. And with shelters full and rescues having waiting lists, it just came natural to start the Pet Pantry.

These pet food pantries are spreading throughout the country and with help from donations they are able to provide temporary assistance with petfood and supplies to those who cant afford to keep them.

A number of tests have already proven that feeding your pet healthy foods will help to avoid chronic illnesses and health conditions.

The following most common pet visits to vets among dogs which can be avoided by feeding your pet a healthy and natural diet are: skin infections, skin allergies, diarrhea, ear infections, vomiting and hot spots.

We all know that a healthy diet is an important factor for good health. And maintaining that for your pet is important. So be sure to be aware of signs of a poor pet diet, make some changes according to what pet you have and you will see how fast he/she will become healthier. Besides we all want our beloved pets to be with us for as long as possible.

I just found this site and wanted to give it a plug. A great resource for freebies, samples and other deals. Not everything is take. Some do in fact give.

Keep up the good work Debbie.

I am going to give this a try for my Korgi Shepherd mix. The benefits listed below are the reasons I am willing to give this a try. As the old boy gets a little older I think I want to put some better food into his body. Good in, good out. Of course he will get the occasional steak bones and such but he has to be on a better diet and I trust the BIG dog food manufacturer’s less and less.

Health Benefits
Over 10 generations of Dogs have proven they THRIVE on V-dog’s vegan formula with benefits ranging from:

I know PETA was involved at one point. Challenging BIG BUSINESS and their motives. What else is new? The motive? Sell, sell, sell… no matter the danger.

Then you have the recall.

http://www.mars.com/global/News+and+Media/News+archive/Nutro+Products+Announces+Voluntary+Recall.htm

When is enough, enough? I mean, when they finally realize something is wrong and usually are forced to issue a recall the question becomes… what and how much damage has been done to our pets?

Is it just me or should there be some major oversight in the production of dog food and other pet snacks, toothpaste etc?

http://www.examiner.com/x-10491-Houston-Pet-Care-Examiner~y2009m7d10-Fluoride–dangerously-high-levels-found-in-pet-food

I just don’t get it. Poison the dog to increase veterinary visits? Its sounds like the guy who has a glass shop and someone goes around breaking window to HELP business.

Something needs to be done.
